# Chart of Accounts

When a company is created in an OHADA member country, CSF OHADA offers SYSCOHADA charts instead of relying only on the charts bundled with ERPNext. The chart is the basis for every template filter and for account numbers on the enhanced asset register.

A template can reuse the same categories across companies. It does not change how you post transactions.

## Member countries

Benin (BJ), Burkina Faso (BF), Cameroon (CM), Central African Republic (CF), Chad (TD), Comoros (KM), Côte d'Ivoire (CI), Democratic Republic of the Congo (CD), Equatorial Guinea (GQ), Gabon (GA), Guinea (GN), Guinea-Bissau (GW), Mali (ML), Niger (NE), Republic of the Congo (CG), Senegal (SN), Togo (TG).

For the above member countries, **Syscohada - Plan Comptable** and **Syscohada - Plan Comptable avec code** will be available on Chart of Accounts options on top ERPNext's Standard options.

## Choose a SYSCOHADA chart

**Standard** and **Standard with Numbers** remain in the list. Charts for non-OHADA countries are still bundled so company setup outside OHADA continues to work.

## After the chart exists

- When adding new child accounts, give them the same Account Category as their parent if they should hit the same statement line.
- Prefer `account category`, `account_type`, and `root_type` in templates rather than company-specific account names if you decide to edit the templates.

## Troubleshooting

### SYSCOHADA does not appear in Chart of Accounts

Confirm the company's **Country** is one of the member states above and that CSF OHADA is installed.

### Category-based template lines are empty

The company was likely created with **Plan Comptable** (no codes). Assign Account Category on posting accounts, or create a new company with **Plan Comptable avec code**.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I keep ERPNext Standard for an OHADA company?

Yes. SYSCOHADA is optional. Category-based OHADA templates will not match Standard account names unless you map categories yourself.
