Account Categories
Account Category groups accounts independently of the company-specific account name. A template line can then select “all Clients accounts” instead of listing every 411 account on every company.
CSF OHADA imports an OHADA-oriented catalogue on migrate. Existing category names are not overwritten. Syscohada - Plan Comptable avec code assigns these categories when accounts are created.
Before you begin
- Ensure Chart of Accounts is setup.
- Open a sample posting account and confirm Account Category is set.
- You can add a new Account Category and update the accounts accordingly.
Use categories in a template
On an Account Data row, filter Account Category you need, for example Clients or Ventes de marchandises. Prefer exact names from the catalogue. Avoid company-specific account names if the same template must run for more than one company.
If you add a child account later, give it the same category as its parent so the template picks it up without need to edit the template.
Troubleshooting
A line is zero although the trial balance has a balance
The posting account has no category, or the category name does not match the row filter. Use View Account Coverage on the template.
Categories are missing after install
Run migrate. The catalogue is inserted then; names that already exist are left unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
Can one template work across companies?
Yes, when every company maps the same categories consistently. Test the output per company.
Must I use the imported names?
Filters must match the Account Category value on the account. Renaming a category without updating templates will drop those lines.
