2.2 Setup Configuration
Work through this list once after installing. Each step links to the page with the details.
1. Sourcing Settings
Open Sourcing → Settings → Sourcing Settings and decide:
- Whether businesses can sign up on their own, or only by invitation.
- Whether you accept supplier applications, customer applications, or both.
- Whether customers may place orders and request credit notes on the portal. Both are off by default.
See Sourcing Settings.
2. Onboarding Types and Documents
- Create a Party Document Type for each document you ask for, such as Business Permit or Tax Compliance Certificate.
- Create a Party Onboarding Template (Onboarding Type) for each kind of applicant, such as Company or Sole Proprietor, and list the documents it needs.
See Onboarding Types and Documents.
3. Opening Committees (Sealed Bids Only)
If you will run sealed bids, create at least one RFQ Opening Committee and add the staff who must confirm before quotations are opened. See Sealed Bids.
4. Prices and Companies for Customer Orders
If customers will order on the portal:
- Give each customer a Default Price List, or set a default selling price list in Selling Settings.
- Add Item Prices for everything customers may order.
- If you have more than one company, add a row per company to the customer's Accounts table. Customers can only order from those companies.
See Placing Orders.
5. Email
Check that outgoing email works. Sign-up links, review decisions, award results and credit decisions are all sent by email.
6. Try It
- Invite yourself as a test supplier from Sourcing Settings → Invite Supplier.
- Complete the application on the portal, then approve it in Desk.
- Send that supplier a small RFQ and quote on it from the portal.
